We have heard reports that the new Glock 17M Pistols are already experiencing problems with the teething & design changes. There have been reports that the Indianapolis Metro Police Department has stopped issuing the new pistol due to problems during dry fire training. The Glock 17M’s were supposed to be issued on July 31st but have now been delayed due to unknown problems.
According to a source from The Firearm Blog, the source stated
“Slides were falling off during dry fire training due to a potential issue with the recoil spring assembly AND/OR the slide stop.”
IMPD has issued a recall on all Glock 17Ms so they can be sent back to Glock for them to find a possible solution to the problems the new Glock has experienced. We would think Glock should be able to fix these problems fairly easily and are curious to see what they come up with.
