Diamondback Shooting Sports offers firearms and self-defense training for all skill levels — from first-time gun owners to seasoned professionals. Courses are held in our Tucson classroom and on our private outdoor range, 15 minutes from the store. Whether you’re pursuing an Arizona CCW permit or advancing your pistol, rifle, or shotgun skills, we have a course for you.

Handgun Classes

Handgun Level 1

Introduction to Handguns LVL1 is a 4-5 hour course of classroom and range instruction. This course covers safety, slow fire for accuracy, presentation of handguns, and finishes with defensive shooting techniques.

Handgun Level 2

Our Handgun Level 2 course focus on developing skills necessary for everyday carry and competition. This course will span 2 days: Friday 8am to 4pm and Saturday 12pm to 8pm.

Rifle Classes

Carbine Level 1

All-range instruction for contemporary semi-automatic rifles. This course is much more than “the basics” and covers safe gun handling, zeroing, loading and unloading procedures, malfunctions, and defensive shooting skills.

Carbine Level 2

Carbine Level 2 focuses on the utilization of modern rifle platforms, including AR and AK platforms, as a primary weapon system with the handgun as a secondary weapon.

Private instruction and group rates are available for first-time and long-time customers, including one-on-one instruction and group firearms training for special events.

Tucson Concealed Weapons Class

Arizona Concealed Weapon Permit

The Arizona Concealed Weapon Permit course is classroom-only instruction lasting approximately 6 hours, with a heavy emphasis on law, legal issues, safe gun handling for concealed carry, and home defense.

Unarmed Guard Course

The Unarmed Guard course is an 8-hour block of instruction covering the required AZ DPS lesson plan.

Upgrade to Armed Guard

The Arizona DPS 16-hour Armed Guard course satisfies the requirement for a current Unarmed Guard to complete initial armed guard training.

Armed Guard Annual Refresher

An annual refresher course for Arizona armed guards covering legal updates, firearms qualification, and continued professional certification requirements. The Armed Guard Annual course is an 8-hour block of instruction that meets the requirements set by ARS 32-2632. PREREQUISITES: Must have CURRENT armed guard card
